The Dean of the Faculty of Economics

The dean is elected by the faculty board from a group of professors for the duration of four years. He leads and represents the faculty within the university. In particular, he is the chairman of the faculty board and is its executive organ. According to the law on higher education of North Rhine-Westphalia the tasks of a dean include but are not limited to the coordination of faculty board meetings, the execution of its decisions and the planning and operation of faculty business and events as well as managing the fiscal affairs of the faculty. Furthermore, he - in cooperation with the vice dean (studies) - ensures the wide range and completeness of the study program and the organization of studies and examinations. The dean is supported by the vice dean and by his assistants.
